Sasha Opeiko lives and works in Windsor, ON. Her conceptual interests are rooted in notions of materiality, objects, entropy and perception. Her artistic practice investigates functionality – and lack thereof – as a means of examining cultural understanding of melancholy, uselessness and our paradoxical relationships to things. Sasha uses found objects and images, detritus, and inconclusive studio experiments; she works in various media including painting, drawing, sculpture and video.
