(2016-2017) Studies of Irradiated Robots

The series consists of drawings of radio-controlled robotic machines used for clean-up operations and investigations of the site in and surrounding the 4th block (Chernobyl). These machines are now defunct and many malfunctioned during operations due to high radiation levels in the area. The drawings are studies based on found images of robots that are on display at a museum of robotic equipment near the site. The drawings function as incomplete sketches rather than detailed, condensed renditions like those in my other projects. They are floating traces on a surface that itself implies fragility and decay, drafted on found paper from 1990s Belarus.
