(2012) Caput Mortuum II

Caput Mortuum II is a series of painted ‘skins’ on aluminum foil, displayed on reflective copper shelves with their corresponding object selves.  These works fall under all the same principles as Caput Mortuum I, but explore further the ideas around self-reflexivity and psychosis.  The objects appear to withdraw or fall away from themselves, which – through arrangements of visual rhymes and stanzas – functions allegorically to illustrate the difficulties in transcending beyond surface/form.
