#melancholy (2021) used machine learning to process a collection of screenshots of Instagram posts that were coming up under #melancholy, showing prevalence of sublime mostly Nordic landscapes which the general population associates with melancholy. The machine learning software’s built-in feature was used to a create a sequence of generated images morphed into a video.
